Summary

The TEP app project is meant to serve as a model project for improving cross sectional care processes and aims at improving the situation of patients receiving a (primary) knee or hip endoprosthesis. Along their way from surgery to rehabilitation and onwards to everyday life, patients often perceive a break in the care process, e.g. when transferring from the hospital to a rehabilitation center. This perceived break may be alleviated if all partners participating in the care process adhere to a cooperative treatment pathway that all have agreed on.
A interactive, mobile app developed within the project will be provided to participating patients and will inform them about their condition, what to expect at their current position on the path as well as during the conttinuing way during their recovery. Thus, the app mirrors the cross sectional treatment pathway and will hopefully serve to improve patient autonomy and adherence to the advised therapies.
