Medical Informatics can be studied in different degree courses at the Peter L. Reichertz Institute.

Medical Informatics in Computer Science:

In-depth studies of medical informatics lead to a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science with specialization in medical informatics. In-depth means that within the 3 years B.Sc. computer science program 50 out of 180 credits are chosen from medical informatics courses, including Bachelor thesis.
In-depth studies of medical informatics lead to a Master of Science degree in computer science with specialization in medical informatics. In-depth means that within the 2 years M.Sc. computer science program 50 out of 120 credits are chosen from medical informatics courses, including Master thesis.
Computer science graduates, having specialized in medical informatics, receive at TU Braunschweig a B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in computer science and in medical informatics.

Medical Informatics in Other Programs:

Courses of medical informatics can be studied in different other programs like Business Information Systems or Computer and Communications Engineering.

Ph.D. in Medical Informatics

Ph.D. studies are research oriented and lead to either a Dr.rer.nat. or a Dr.-Ing. degree. Ph.D. studies are part if the institute’s research activities. Usually a Ph.D student is working in one of the institute’s research projects. Ph.D. work can be done in German and in English.
