2024-11-22: Car Detects Stroke Early: TU Braunschweig Develops Health Check System

The Technical University of Braunschweig has developed a car that uses integrated sensors to monitor the driver's health and detect early signs of strokes or cardiovascular diseases.

Drivers of a new Smartcar from the Technical University of Braunschweig can now monitor their health while driving. The vehicle is equipped with sensors that measure ECG, heart rate, and breathing frequency to detect early signs of strokes or cardiovascular diseases. The vital data is automatically captured through sensors in the seatbelt, steering wheel, and car seat, and analyzed by artificial intelligence. In case of abnormalities, drivers receive an email notification. This system could help detect diseases early and reduce the risk of severe health problems in the future.
