Summary

The joint project MHH-QuAALi developed the qualification course for AAL consultants. The course was designed for different occupational groups of health professionals, craftsmen and technicians. It consists of two weeks in a classroom within the scope of 40 hours divided into a basic and an advanced module, which are supplemented by e-learning courses. To address the special challenges, different didactic methods were applied in the qualification for AAL consultants. Lectures, case examples, learning in interdisciplinary groups as well as demonstrations of practical examples were used in the teaching. After the pilot phase with a unique implementation of the basic module, the AAL-qualification has been conducted three times with both modules in 2013/14. A total of 88 participants from 10 federal states took part in the course. Almost all participants acquired the certificate (AAL consultant) offered by IHK Hannover. The AAL-qualification received a very good overall evaluation. Critical remarks are based i.e. on requests for more information on individual topics. Positively emphasized was the work in interdisciplinary small groups. The high number of participants and the positive feedback from participants show the clear demand for vocational training in the field of assistive technologies. The format of the AAL-qualification seems to be useful to strengthen the subject in the various professional fields.
