2025-03-20: Research Day 2025 at the PLRI

On March 20th, 2025, the Peter L. Reichertz Institute (Mühlenpfordtstr. 23, Room IZ 161) hosted an inspiring interdisciplinary workshop under the theme “Good Idea! Creative Brains.” Organized by Prof. Dr. Dr. Michael Marschollek and Prof. Dr. Thomas M. Deserno, the event brought together researchers and creative thinkers from various fields.

The day began with coffee and cake, followed by an engaging keynote from Prof. Dr. Martin Korte (TU Braunschweig), who explored the role of creativity in scientific thinking. Participants then dove into interactive group work sessions to further explore the topic.

In the afternoon, the focus shifted to One Health—an integrated approach to human, animal, and environmental health. Prof. Dr. Lothar Kreienbrock (TiHo Hannover) delivered a thought-provoking keynote on data challenges and interdisciplinary collaboration in this area. The topic was further explored in group exercises and discussions.

The working groups later presented their results, followed by a brief talk on research output metrics by Prof. Marschollek. The day concluded with a relaxed get-together, offering space for informal networking and exchange—rounding off a day full of fresh ideas and fruitful discussions.

Afterward, a group photo was taken outside behind the institute.
