Summary
In order to attract more women as specialists and managers to the digital healthcare system, HiGHmed is developing offers for young female academics.
The SummerSchool Woman in Health and Computer Science (WinHaCS) is planned for 2019 and will consist of three workshops and five accompanying podcasts. In order to reach graduates and young female scientists from different research areas, the workshops will take place at the three locations Technical University Braunschweig (TU Braunschweig), Hannover Medical School (MHH) and University Hannover (HsH).
While the workshops primarily serve to acquire additional skills, the podcasts are intended to raise public awareness of the topic. In interviews with various female scientists and experts, career-relevant aspects of the role of women in management positions especially in the digital world will be discussed. The workshops will offer opportunities for women on the topics of self-presentation in a scientific context, teamwork and leadership skills and negotiation strategies.
