New Highlights at MEDICA 2024: "Automotive Health" as a Future-Oriented Concept.
At MEDICA 2024, the special exhibition area "Automotive Health" was introduced—an innovative field of research that connects modern vehicle technologies with the collection of health-related data. The goal is to monitor the health status of vehicle occupants during a drive and to enable both preventive and therapeutic measures. One example already in use is the driver drowsiness detection system.
The Institute for Innovation from Braunschweig, which specializes in this emerging field, showcased its developments at the special area in Hall 12. Particularly noteworthy were the live demonstrations using vehicles such as the VW ID.4, the historic Melkus sports car, and a racing simulator. The institute's team—composed of experts from computer science, medicine, and economics—is working on interdisciplinary solutions that are set to shape the future of Automotive Health.
